This Privacy Policy sets out how SFITA (NI)Ltd uses and protects any information that you to give to us when you use this website, or our services. It is compliant with the General Data and Protection Regulation requirements.

SFITA (NI)Ltd are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using our website or speaking to us personally; you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

ATP SFITA (NI)Ltd process personal information that is necessary for the issue of approved certificates to comply with our obligations as an MCA approved training provider and under the requirements of STCW.

 

Your Rights

This Privacy Policy indicates your right to be informed of the data we collect regarding you. You have a right to access that information at any time without charge and to request changes to the data we hold about you if you think it is incorrect.

In certain circumstances you have the right to object to information, request erasure of information or request amendment of information we hold; but only if that information is not deemed to be a legal requirement and to be held by us by law or if the data is fundamentally incorrect. Your information is only held by us and the legal authorities that we operate under.

You can request a list of the data we hold regarding you by telephoning +44 (0)28 42771556 or by emailing us at training@sfitaportavogie.co.uk . In either case you will be expected to be able to pass security identification before progressing. If you request a data list, data alteration or data deletion we will respond to you within 30 days with a response detailing our actions. Where a change of information held is made, we will also notify the legal awarding bodies of our actions (if appropriate) and request them to alter the records held by them about you. However, we advise that you check with these Authorities as any actions they take or do not take are out of our control. There is no charge for this facility.

Data held by us will be given to you on request within 30 days in a list format. This does not include the issuance of duplicate certification. We will make a small charge for providing duplicate certification.

We will, on your request, forward your records list to a destination of your choice but in all instance a copy of this will be sent to your contact or email address we hold on record as well. We most instances, we will still be required by law keep the data we forward to you.

Your data is only held by us and never given to third parties outside of our legal obligation to do so. It will never be used as any part of any decision-making process about you or used as a profiling tool regarding you.

 

What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Name and date of birth
  • Contact information including email address
  • Demographic information such as postcode, resident address or c/o address
  • Training course history, attendance history, examination records, and personal identifying data such as National insurance numbers.

Please note: We do NOT hold any financial information such as account details, sort codes, account names, credit or debit card details, or any other method of payment. Payment details given to us over the telephone are only used to input the required information to the secure payment system and are invisible to us after the transaction process is completed.

 

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information by law to satisfy us or Governmental bodies or other Authorities that the certification held by individuals or companies on behalf of individuals is legitimate. It also helps Port Authorities to detect fraudulent activities.

It also provides you with a better service, in that it assists us in being able to identify you properly should you require certification assistance or other record information, particularly for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may periodically send promotional email or letters about training, which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided. You can opt out of this facility if you wish by telephoning us on +44(0)28 42771556 or by emailing us at training@sfitaportavogie.co.uk
  • In cases where we need to contact you urgently, for example in the event of accident, course cancellation or urgent record clarification we may contact you by phone or email.

 

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online, take over the phone or hold in our databases.

 

How we use cookies

  • Training records and associated information are held on an individual basis and NOT a company basis. If your company wants or needs access to your information this must be initiated by you, the individual and you must be able to pass our security questioning.

 

Record updating and issuance

We will automatically update your records and ensure accurately maintain your records.

Some certification issued by us in the past may not be held on our records. If you think this is the case, please send us copies of your certification and we will verify it and place it on your record free of charge.

We reserve the right to make a small charge for the replacement of lost or mislaid certification.
